“Point of view is everything" has always been my teaching/life philosophy. I think we serve well when we realize that not everyone looks at life through the same lens. It is easier to remember this when people are treated as individuals and valued for their unique differences. TVS does just that, and provides an environment which fosters students emotionally and creatively.
I was drawn to The Village School of Naples because I wanted to join a school focused on project-based learning. Working collaboratively with other teachers and aligning projects to our STEAM-centered curriculum is so enjoyable. It is fulfilling to see children working daily in an imaginative setting and watching them grow year to year.
Students considering TVS should know this is a place where you will be listened to, cared about and challenged to become your best self academically and personally. TVS is a kind, nurturing school with a supportive staff of professionals working cooperatively to meet the educational needs of students in innovative and positive ways.
Looking back over the past seven years at The Village School, I have been supported by being given the flexibility to work creatively with peers and students. TVS helps me continually look at teaching and my students in a new light, and that, in turn, has made me a better teacher.
At the end of the day, it is the students that have made the most difference in my life. Their eagerness to learn and ability to find joy in the seemingly small things in life are always fulfilling.
