Teacher Rosaleen LeClair

Rosaleen LeClair
TLC Middle & Upper School

This is my first year with The Village School. I was eager to join the faculty at TVS because I felt welcomed during my interview, and was excited about being part of a growing Upper School.

As a teacher in The Learning Center (TLC) for both Middle and Upper School, my department provides a school wide support system that delivers a personalized and effective learning experience for each student. We look at the unique circumstances and grade level of the child and tailor an evidence-based program to successfully meet their educational, social and emotional needs.

I have found that what sets The Village School of Naples apart is the STEAM-centered academics. We are not a school that just says the buzzword and puts it on paper. I want families to know that we “really” do STEAM projects based on the curriculum. Experiential learning based in project work is engaging and fun for children and helps them connect and better understand the material. Teachers at TVS care about students. We do all we can to help each one of them as the individual they are, and we want them to succeed.

My life philosophy is to always do your best and be honest and kind. This is huge as a classroom teacher. TVS reflects this philosophy as well. The school has made a difference in my life by allowing me to gain experience regarding the needs of the students and how our many resources can benefit them. I am supported with incredible team mates that are helpful and easy to work with, and professional development opportunities. Overall, I am so grateful to the administration for their leadership and for creating a culture of kindness and professionalism.
