Welcome from the Middle School Principal
Greetings, TVS families! I am so glad to be joining this amazing family of educators, parents and, of course, students! My journey here has led me through Maine, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and back to Florida again. My family and I are thrilled to be part of an educational community that prides itself on educating the whole child in a positive Christian environment with a focus on true S.T.E.A.M. educational principles.
Having had the benefit of teaching and coaching at the middle school level for over a decade, I have grown to love this time in the development of a child's educational life. From the classroom to the athletic fields and beyond, the middle years are a time of exploration, growth and social awareness. Educators who work with children during this time of brain development must be keenly aware of the physical, emotional, and academic challenges that middle school students face.
Our incredibly qualified faculty know first hand the challenges our middle schoolers face and create an environment that fosters empathy among our students, as well as collaboration and communication, all while challenging students always to look beyond their current abilities and strive for more. Through our advisory program, faculty build solid foundational relationships that foster an environment of trust and communication, thereby creating a place in which each student is known, nurtured, and loved.
To be sure, the social and emotional stages of the middle school years are vital to the development of the whole child. Our positive Christian environment solidifies the very Christ Skills that are necessary to help grow students who will make a positive difference in the world. Though its academic rigor and its focus on Christ Skills and social-emotional development, The Village School provides an environment in which each student can grow, lead, and contribute positively to family, school, church, and the world beyond.
My family and I could not be more pleased to be a part of this amazing school!
