ART CLASS OFFERINGS

Earth to Fine Art: Rocks, Gems and Minerals Discover the fabulous world of rocks, gems, and minerals, and learn how they are connected to the creation of fine art! This is a STEAM designed art based class that includes, art history, world geography, geology, and science. Students will explore the globe for sources of materials while designing and fabricating 2D/3D works such as paintings, vessels, mosaics, wire wrapping, and simulated jewelry making.

Mini Mootisse and Petite Picasso Working with the Modern Master’s as inspiration for style and technique, we will create our own animal-themed mixed media mini masterpieces. Using bold color, and a variety of materials, young artists will learn the elements of design and composition, while developing skills and building confidence in their own expressive style.

3D Sculpture and Design Discover and learn about famous sculptors Barbara Hepworth, Louise Nevelson, Andy Goldsworthy, Alexander Calder, Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, and many other artists that work 3D. Using a variety of traditional and non- traditional materials, students will develop spatial awareness and fine motor skills while creating with nature, paper mache, clay, wire, Model Magic, found objects, and other applicable materials.
