Special Events

The Village School currently conducts nine special events each year. Some, like the Veterans Day and Grandparents and Special Friends Day events, are long standing while others, like Field Day are quite new to us. Most of our special events are designed to foster relationships, build school spirit and project the mission of the school to the community. A few, such as the Knight Golf Classic and the Spring Gala Party - Knight Under The Stars, are intended to raise funds for the operation and betterment of TVS. If you are interested in learning more about or supporting any of our special events, please contact the Development Office at 239-593-7686.

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat is an event that brings together school families. It’s a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween with your family. Families decorate their trunks, either simply or elaborately, and the students trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk. Families can also join in on the fun without decorating their trunk. Lots of friends and families = Lots of fun!
All families bring about 250 pieces of candy to pass out or to donate to those with decorated trunks.

Veterans' Day Program

Military veterans have personified the value of service above self. The sacrifices they have made and the service they have rendered is worthy of respect and recognition. To show our gratitude and demonstrate the importance of service and selfness to our students The Village School conducts a special program for area veterans each year around Veterans Day. The TVS Veterans Day Program kicks off with a breakfast for vets and their spouses prepared and served by our students. Following this, there is a program honoring the vets that involves select students and is attended by the entire student body.

Grandparents and Special Friends' Day

Grandparents and Special Friends Day at the Village School is a very special experience for our families. “Grandfriends” are welcomed to a lovely breakfast, followed by an awesome musical performance from students from Junior Kindergarten all the way to Upper School participating. This is an event filled with smiles and laughter, and the occasional tear. Following the program, grandfriends join their grandchildren in their classrooms for activities and visits. Upper School and campus tours are available after all festivities with Susan Beckner

Spring Party Gala

Each spring TVS volunteers, in conjunction with the Development and Administrative staff, plan and host a gala party to raise money to support the school's operational and technology needs. It is the biggest fundraising event of the year for our school. The annual gala features a cocktail reception, dinner, entertainment and live and silent auctions. A wide variety of sponsorship/underwriting opportunities are available for the Spring Party. Contact the Development Office for more information.

Field Day

Field Day is a day when the whole school, from Kindergarten through High School, comes together to compete in a variety of games, sporting events and other activities. Competitions range from Sprint Relays to Tug of War. By the end of the day, the Black Knights or Gold Knights will be declared the winners.

Knight Golf Classic

The TVS Knight Golf Classic (KGC) has become an annual tradition. As the name implies, it begins with a golf outing including longest drive, closest to the pin and putting competitions for prizes. Following the golf, the fun continues with a party featuring great food and beverages. The KGC takes place in the Fall and supports The Village School Athletic Program & Physical Education Program for our Jr. Kindergarten to Upper School students. This allows us to continue to provide our students, athletes and teams the best coaches, facilities, and equipment possible. A wide spectrum of sponsorships and packages are available. Contact the TVS Athletic Office at 239-593-7686 for more information.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation

A week-long celebration in recognition of educators and the contributions they make to lives of students and the TVS community. It is held in the first full week of May of every year and provides an opportunity for students, their parents, and others to show their appreciation for the hard work faculty and staff do and the long hours many of them put in.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Father/Daughter relationships are very special. Recognizing that, The Village School has been holding a Daddy Daughter Dance in the Spring for years. This special experience helps strengthen the relationship between dads and their daughters through an enjoyable night of music, dancing, games and activities as well as special snacks and refreshments. This event is planned and run by a committee of moms. If you would like to volunteer to help contact the Development Office.
